Hey there! So I'm a major fan of doing hair as a lot of my friends would know, especially the odd plait or too but when it comes to my own hair I'm not so adventurous. I thought I would share my hair care routine from wet out of the shower to dry. I don't use a wide variety and range of products or tools, I try to keep it basic but make sure my hair is healthy and as little damaged as possible.
P.s. I don't know why my hair looks auburn in some photos, its very brown. trust me.

Here is my hair straight out of the shower after being wrapped in a towel on my head. It looks pretty thin and whispy but doesn't all wet hair? Next I'm gonna add my products.
Over a year ago I bought this wondrous after my hairdresser recommended it to me for keeping my hair healthy and to protect and strengthen my ends! So a year later I returned to get a hair cut, yes I waited a full year to get a trim, and she couldn't believe the condition of my hair, especially with it being a year since it was cut. I defo put it down to using this and another product for the growth of my hair and the minimal split ends. It was £27 but honestly, a year on and I still have over a third of the bottle left. Well well worth it.
The next and final product I use is heat protectant. This is just Tresemme heat defence spray which I bought for a few pounds in ASDA. I personally think that even by using hair dryers or any heat tools that a protectant is important to preventing split ends. I use this over the oil because it means the oil gets to the hair first and nourishes it, then the spray adds a protectant barrier over the top. Its personal preference as to what you like to use on your hair and what works best but I would recommend a heat defence, I guess you aren't loosing out on anything to give it a try and see if it works for you.
So I apply both of these products to the bottom lengths of my hair, staying clear of my roots to avoid oily, greasy hair.
I know that its recommended to not brush your hair when its wet because when the hair is wet, its in its most elastic state and by pulling it when you brush it, you are breaking it more. I find that by using a big paddle brush, its lightly distributes the product in the ends of my hair and ensures there are no knots or tangles quickly due to the large surface area of the brush. If you have tatty hair I would defo say to use a detangle spray to make this a little easier for yourself and easier on your hair. I start at my ends and gradually work my way up to avoid pulling my hair loads and it makes it 10x easier.
So the sun was going down at the point, thats why the photo is a little darker. As you can see my hair likes to go into a puff ball after I run the hairdryer over it. When I let it dry naturally it goes into soft waves and is not fuzzy at all but thats just the heat causing it to frizz, I'm sure you feel me. Also, by tipping your hair upside down it creates more frizz and blow drying in different directions causes your hair to have a little fluff up.
If i don't want to straighten my hair or really cba, I will put it in a dutch braid and sleep in it. This controls the frizz so well because my hair is pulled flat and when i wake up in the morning it gives a really natural pretty wave in my hair. The extra bonus was I didn't use any heat and it required 0 effort. Win Win situation. If you want to see how I did this or any other plaits feel free to let me know and ill put up a post on it.
On the other hand, if I get bored of the natural look or want my hair to be a little more tamed Ill straighten it. I use the cloudnine straighter, the c9. I would recommend this straightener over the GHD any day, I find that its not as harsh on my hair, leaves it super shiny and glides over my hair a lot nicer. It also has a cool feature of changing the temperature and switching it on by clicking the plates off each other, heats up within 10 seconds and switches off after 20 seconds of not being used. V V V good.
Finito! Hair done!
